It introduces fundamentals of the human endocrine system and elucidates mechanisms of the endocrine disrupting action together with factors affecting the endocrine disruption processes. Furthermore, it provides an overview of compounds with endocrine disruptive activity and examples of diseases for which endocrine disruption is considered to be a contributing factor for their onset.
