| dc.description.abstract | Práce se zabývá interpretací hororových prvků ve vybraných povídkách Raye Bradburyho. Teoretický úvod přibližuje základní rysy gotického románu a zamýšlí se nad vazbami mezi touto literární tradicí a žánrem science fiction (např. význam románu Frankenstein). Vlastní literární analýza zahrnuje konkrétní tematické okruhy, odrážející zkoumané souvislosti (ztráta identity, odcizení, otázka paměti, téma života a smrti, přítomnost tajemství). Práce se pokouší posoudit i způsob vyvolávání napětí a sugestivní atmosféry (význam prostředí). | cze |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | This thesis deals with the interpretation of the horror elements in the short stories of Ray Bradbury. The theoretical part describes the main features of the Gothic novel and the links between this literary tradition and the genre of science fiction (e.g. the role of the novel Frankenstein). The practical part deals with the particular themes of Bradbury's stories: (the loss of identity, alienation, the role of memory, the fear of death, the presence of mystery). The thesis also deals with the way Bradbury evokes suspense and the atmosphere of horror. | eng |
