dc.description.abstractDiplomová práce se zabývá problematikou trestu smrti. Na začátku jsou uvedené obecné teorie trestu a jednotlivé funkce trestu jako takového. V další kapitole je nastíněn historický vývoj trestu smrti až po současnost. Třetí kapitola je věnována jak dřívějším, tak i současným technikám absolutního trestu. Důležitou roli hrají jednotlivé mezinárodní dokumenty upravující právo na život a možnost ukládání trestu smrti. Dále jsou samozřejmě zmíněné argumenty hovořící ve prospěch a v neprospěch jeho ucze
